Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe and Transfer to Mbale.
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by one of our representatives who will welcome you and transfer you to Mbale. The drive to Mbale takes approximately four hours and offers beautiful views of the Ugandan countryside. Once you arrive in Mbale, you will check into your hotel and have the rest of the day to relax and acclimatize to the altitude.

Day 2: Sasa River Camp (2,900m).
After breakfast, we’ll transfer to Budadiri, the starting point of the trek. Here, you’ll meet your hiking team and begin your hike to Sasa River Camp. The trail passes through bamboo forests and open moorland, offering stunning views of the valley below. You’ll arrive at the camp in the afternoon and have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Day 3: Mude Cave Camp (3,500m).
Today’s hike takes us up to Mude Cave Camp, passing through the heather zone and crossing the Jackson summit (4,165m). The trail is steep and challenging, but the views are well worth it. Mude Cave Camp is located in a natural cave and offers shelter from the elements.

Day 4: Lake Kitandara Camp (4,023m).
Today we’ll trek to Lake Kitandara Camp, passing through spectacular valleys and passing by the famous Hot Springs. The campsite is located near Lake Kitandara and offers stunning views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 5: Summit Day (4,321m).
Today is the day you’ve been waiting for – summit day! We’ll start early in the morning and make our way to the summit of Mount Elgon. The trek to the summit is challenging but the views from the top are breathtaking. After spending some time at the summit, we’ll make our way back down to Lake Kitandara Camp.

Day 6: Mude Cave Camp (3,500m).
After breakfast, we’ll begin our descent to Mude Cave Camp. The trail is steep and challenging, but the views are well worth it. We’ll spend the night at Mude Cave Camp.

Day 7: Budadiri and Transfer to Entebbe.
Today is our final day of the trek. We’ll make our way back to Budadiri and say goodbye to our hiking team. From here, we’ll transfer back to Entebbe, where you can catch your flight back home or extend your stay and explore more of Uganda.
