Day 1: Arrival in Kigali

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by an Elegant Africa Travels™ representative who will transfer you to your hotel for check-in. Depending on your arrival time, you may have the option to take a city tour of Kigali, where you’ll visit the Genocide Memorial Center and learn about the tragic history of the country. Overnight at your hotel in Kigali.

Day 2: Kigali – Volcanoes National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Volcanoes National Park, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. En route, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views of the rolling hills and scenic countryside. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Iby’iwacu Cultural Village, where you’ll learn about traditional Rwandan culture and customs. Overnight at your lodge in Volcanoes National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking

Today, you’ll embark on a once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking experience in Volcanoes National Park. Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking

Day 7: Nyungwe Forest National Park – Lake Kivu

After breakfast, you’ll drive to Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s great lakes and the largest freshwater lake in Rwanda. Along the way, you’ll pass through scenic countryside and small towns. Upon arrival at Lake Kivu, you’ll have the option to relax on the beach or take a boat ride to one of the nearby islands. Overnight at your hotel on Lake Kivu.

Day 8: Lake Kivu – Kigali

Today, you’ll drive back to Kigali, where you’ll have the opportunity to do some last-minute shopping for souvenirs or gifts. Depending on your flight time, you may have the option to visit some of the city’s museums or cultural centers before being transferred to Kigali International Airport for your departure flight.
